Transitional Wardrobe at Terracotta – Autumn/ Winter 17

-AW17 trends are available at Terracotta boutique. Here are a selection of a few trends seen on the catwalk that are in store to BUY NOW! Please have a read and visit our website & instagram for more updates! We hope to see you soon.

The first trend we are seeing on the catwalk is patchwork, from the likes of big fashion houses such as John Gallianos patchwork references for Margiela and Calvin Kleins use of mash up of cultural references to celebrate beauty of inclusivity. -Elleuk.com.            Dixie our Italian range instore, have a beautiful array of this patchwork fabric used for dresses and cullottes. Then Anonyme have used a much similar loud fabric for this beautiful draped shirt with the pattern resembling a sort of patchwork.

The second trend to take note of is the fashion reboot of all manner of knitwear. The catwalk is bringing back the ‘granny knits’ for this Autumn Winter seasons, as seen by Max Mara, Prada, Miu Miu and other big fashion houses. So bring out your old granny knits or get to Terracotta and get your hands on a brand new 50% cashmere jumper to be bang on trend as well as keeping cosy!

Thirdly, the lady in red is here to stay for the next few seasons. As seen on the runway from the likes of Fendi, Alexander McQueen, Gucci and other big fashion houses, it is a big red alert for Autumn/ Winter 2017. New in at Terracotta by Great Plains and Anonyme are classic red pieces for the seasons. Starting with Great Plains soft red tie dress and soft v neck jumper these two are a must have for the ‘red to toe’ trend. The flower patterned shirt could be worn as a statement piece alone or paired with a vest and jeans kept open like a jacket. Be sure to be the best lady in red with these items!

Additional to the above trends is the tartan takeover, its not new however it’s back with a bang. ”Forget anything you know about tartan. Next season it’s making a comeback, with a bit of a makeoover” Marie Claire. Dixie again have excitingly dropped a tartan skirt for AW17 with a thick buckle belt and gorgeous pleats. Go for the tartan takeover look with a classic tee or match with a slogan tee for a current tartan makeover look like the ‘rebel, rebel’ tee in Dixie’s campaign photography.

Last but certainly not least, is the mustard trend. There are a wide range of mustard coloured pieces instore at Terracotta. Pair with black for a colour contrast and a more dressy feel or blue denim for a casual stylish look. Women have seen yellow as a shade that does nothing for their skin tones, eyes or hair but the runway is unwavering when it comes to the sun-drenched hue. ‘From fizzy sherbert to mustard to pastel Fifties lemon, yellow ran the gamut on the runway proving that there is, after all, an option out there for everyone, no matter your skin tone’ – TheIndependant.

Terracotta are choosing their favourite pieces in from Great Plains which are the wisteria blue shirt and jumper. This blue is perfect for the colder days as the hues falls between purple and blue and are universally flattering. This is as versatile as a denim hue, so pair it with anything, from brights like yellow to neutrals like camel.
